MadKap Productions is seeking men and women actors for our production of Neil Simon's CALIFORNIA SUITE, a full-length comedy divided into four "playlets" and set in the late 1970s in a suite at the Beverly Hills Hilton.
Production Dates: Opening Night - Friday, June 22, 2018
Rehearsals begin early May, 2018
Fridays and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm
One Wednesday Matinee
Closes July 14, 2018

"Vistor from New York" section
Hannah Warren - A workaholic Manhattan magazine writer, age 40s.
William Warren - Former husband of Hannah, a Hollywood screenwriter, age 40s - 50s.
"Visitor from Philadelphia" section
Marvin Michaels - Nervous husband, 30s - 40s, who discovers a call girl in his hotel room bed the morning his wife arrives to join him.
Millie Michaels - Marvin's unsuspecting wife, age 30s - 40s.
Call girl - Mostly comatose, any age 18+.
"Visitors from London" section
Sidney Nichols - British bon vivant bisexual (British accent)
Diana Nichols - Sidney's long-time wife, a British star nominated for an Academy Award (British accent)
"Visitors from Chicago" section
Mort Hollender - On a disastrous vacation with his wife Beth and best friends the Franklyns, 30s - 40s, more physically imposing than Stu Franklyn.
Beth Hollender - Mort's wife, injured while playing tennis. 30s - 40s.
Stu Franklyn -- Mort's friend, thin. 30s - 40s.
Gert Franklyn - Stu's wife, injured (slightly) during the action of the play. 30s - 40s.
Age ranges are sugggested.
Please prepare a comedic monologue.
Callbacks will feature cold readings from the script.

Cleaning bathrooms, lobby and floors
Taking inventory of cleaning supplies and concessions weekly
Selling concessions during performances: – approximately 4 per week
Hours vary – mostly evenings and weekends
Closing theatre at the end of the night
Changing marquee signage as necessary (requires ability to climb and move large ladder)
Distribute posters and postcards through Skokie
Must have or be willing to obtain a Bassett License enabling applicant to sell liquor
- This requires a 3 hour course which can be taken online
Good customer service skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work without supervision
Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week. Hours vary based on show schedule.
$12.00/hr to start
