Skokie Theatre Gives Back
No One Is an Island
a Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fundraiser
Friday Oct 27th
Skokie Theatre Executive Director Wendy Kaplan was trapped for ten days in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria ravaged the U. S. territory. She witnessed first-hand how badly the inhabitants of the island need medical supplies, food, water, shelter, and the other basics of survival in order to rebuild their lives and communities.
Skokie Theatre is proud to present some of our favorite performers, who are donating their time and talents to raise money for humanitarian relief. This benefit concert features Judy Rossignuolo-Rice, Bernard Rice, Carla Gordon, Russ Goeltenbodt, Jan Slavin, and Denise McGowan Tracy. Also featuring Carmen Severino (a singer of Puerto Rican heritage), Skokie Idol finalist Julianne Epperson Arvizu, and renowned singer Takesha Meshé Kizart (Sister Africa). Music direction by Mark Burnell.
Please join us for evening of reflection, song, and commitment to help the men, women, and children in desperate need on the island.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Hispanic Federation's Unidos: Disaster Relief and Recovery Program to Support Puerto Rico, and United for Puerto Rico with the purpose of providing aid and support to the victims of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María.
If you can not attend, but wish to help, donations of any amount can be given here:
